Michael cultivated interests in every aspect of buying and selling businesses. At Deloitte & Touche, he was involved with the merger of large publicly-held companies. Fascinated by the complexity of the process, he became increasingly interested, through work at Barclays Bank in underwriting and loan negotiations for leveraged buy-outs. Michael’s interests lead him to earn accreditation as a Certified Valuation Analyst and specialized in business valuations with his own CPA firm, which merged with LB&A. His understanding and expertise in mergers and acquisitions is enhanced by his unique vantage points of being a buyer, a seller, a banker, as well as a CPA.
Michael’s approach to business valuation starts with a comprehensive understanding of his client’s business with a thorough analysis of finances and competitive market factors compared with similar companies. Those comparisons lead to a defendable valuation and formation of strategies which are used to enhance value.
